Little Church to expand
![]() |
ISLAND PARK — An expansion project has been launched at the Little Church in the Pines, the log church on South Big Springs Loop Road operated by the Regional Council for Christian Ministry (RCCM) in Idaho Falls.
The project calls for building an addition to the church that will have a handicapped accessible ramp and restrooms, a kitchen, an office/classroom, and a basement. Repairs will also be done on the original log building. The expansion will add a small amount of seating space to the church, which is in is third year of having year-round Sunday services. Also, the priest from Mary Immaculate Church in St. Anthony celebrates Catholic Mass at the church every Saturday May through September.
Some church supporters have made substantial donations to RCCM for the project and the church community will sponsor fundraisers. The first fundraiser is a yard sale set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at the church — starting at 11 a. m., burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and soft drinks will be sold
Please donate good, usable items to this effort (no junk, please) by dropping them at the church the day before, starting at 10 o’clock in the morning. For more information, please call Helena, 558-0440 or Cheryl, 558-7004, or e-mail Holly Steadman here.
You can donate to the building fund when you attend church. Please include a note earmarking the donation for the building fund. You can also mail a donation to RCCM, 237 North Water Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID. 83402-4003.
Non-denominational Christian services are at 11 a. m. on Sundays until Memorial Day weekend, when the time changes to 10 o’clock. Mass is at 5:30 p. m. on Saturday starting Memorial Day weekend.
