Island Park

The longest Main Street in America
Is in Island Park, Idaho;
This beautiful, unique community
Is like living at the end of a rainbow.
The people are quick with a smile
And always ready to lend a helping hand;
From bringing food to a sick neighbor
To helping a fellow rancher brand.
Driving through Island Park
You would never know;
That this picturesque area
Actually sits on a collapsed volcano.
Fisherman by the thousands
Flock to Henry’s Lake;
The fish are so big
They’ll make you do a double take.
Big Springs is a treasured area
Not only because of its Natural Spring;
But seeing the cabin John Sacks built
Is very inspiring.
Chief Joseph lead his people through Island Park
When trying to escape the Army;
All he wanted to do
Was keep his Nez Perce people free.
Island Park is a special place
Rich with beauty, wildlife, and history;
A quite, friendly, peaceful, town
A symbol of the west, open, wild and free.
